This course introduces students to essential reading strategies, fostering the skills needed to engage with texts effectively and confidently. Through a blend of instructional videos, interactive classroom activities, and online exercises, students will explore pre-reading techniques to activate prior knowledge and set goals, during-reading strategies such as skimming, scanning, and inference-making, and post-reading practices like summarizing and reflection. Weekly vocabulary-building tasks, including creating flashcards, prepare students for the next phase of their learning journey. Designed for foundational learners, this course empowers students to read with purpose, build comprehension, and develop a lifelong appreciation for reading.
